Legislative Reception - Schylar Canfield and Vivian Taylor

Board member Schylar Canfield, a former foster child now at Montana Tech in Butte, talks with Secretary Vivian Taylor of Saco. Board members from CASA of Montana mingled with CASA program directors and legislators at an educational reception. CASA programs are asking for increased funding through the Montana Supreme Court budget.

Santella, known as "Sandy" is serving with CASA of Montana and CASA Advocates for Kids in Helena for one year. She was one of 33 VISTA members sworn in before the Montana Supreme Court on Jan. 24.

$400 Missoula cake

A $400 cake for CASA of Missoula - Tracy Ledyard, social worker and member of the CASA of Missoula Board of Directors, displays the carrot cake that Judge Robert "Dusty" Deschamps III bought for $400 at the Light of Hope Banquet in Missoula. The event brought in over $20,000. The board also honored 2006 volunteer of the year Laura Cork, a Missoula CASA volunteer who also attended and spoke eloquently at the 2006 Judicial conference on youth in need sponsored by Chief Justice Gray.
